In this chapter, John finds his way into the magical world of the Clock, meeting some of the ghosts and having his first adventure. He discovers that he can walk into the pictures and when Lady Matilda, Sir Percy and the Abbot take him to meet Leticia and Bunsen in the Desert Picture, they find them gone. It is John who suggests looking on the Moon, and sure enough, they walk into that picture and find Leticia and Bunsen on the Moon, with Bunsen stuck down a hole. Was it all a dream or will John be able to go into the Clock again?
